Update (6/9/12) - After a long explanation and talk with rakiru, and an admission that quite a few people fucked up, I have been convinced by rakiru that no more problems of this nature will occur from the people who were involved. I have commuted all punishments mentioned in this post with the exception of the permanent ban of Freeman720 due to his behavior following the ban. With the exception of Freeman720, I've been pleasantly surprised at the maturity of everyone involved. Consider my faith in humanity restored.

I was sorely disappointed to find out one more community member was involved, a personal friend of mine. rakiru has lost Contributor and Fancy Pants, but I will abstain from banning him in consideration of his extensive contributions to the IRC network.

Let this serve as a warning, it will not be tolerated, no matter who you are.

That's... really low. WhatsCS was one of the last people I thought would be bad, I guess this is a lesson: you can't trust anyone until you know them really well...

Thats sad on the 5 members part,why would they feel the need to muck up someones reputation on purpose? Did they mass upvote their own rep and then mass downvote someone who they all disliked, no matter if their posts were good or bad?

This could all be avoided by just correctly using the rep system. Rep-abuse has discouraged people for too long. Let this be a warning that it will not be tolerated.

I would guess mass downvote. It's been happening for months and as much as I liked some of the members who were punished, it's been a long time coming but I think warnings could have been issued first.
