I was downloading nocheat+ today to test some bypasses and i saw this to the side of the bukkit page. It is a poll asking if nocheat+ should come preinstalled with essentials, a plugin I see on almost all servers. If this happens, standard minecraft hacks will not work.

What i ask of you is to please register for bukkit if you have not done so yet and vote NO! I would hate to see this happen because not only will it block hacks, but will increase lag with most servers and risk you getting banned for no reason (nocheat's false alarms).

I hope we can do something about this and thanks for reading.

Who the fuck even uses Essentials? If you are a smart server admin, you know to stay away from that server-crashing shit..

Well, the majority of the admins are retarded. Therefore there will be many servers getting Essentials.

And the easiest servers to grief are the ones with dumb admins. The dumb admins however, have NoCheat+.

This is bad. Last time I tried Nocheat+, it was way too buggy. It was impossible to believe that it was using Nocheat as a base.

Never once crashed on me.
I like it for commands like /i and /time etc...
If it were to be implemented into Essentials, there would be a setting to turn it off.

EDIT: I looked at the comments, most of them say no, contrary to the votes saying yes.
I still hope the NCP developer doesn't merge them.

Coders will find another way to cheat so no cheat + is a waste of time all the stupid admins will use essentials until they find another way to patch the new cheats

I'm pretty sure other more reliable plugins have these commands. You could even easily make a custom plugin for all those basic commands  with very minimum knowledge of coding and a couple tutorials.

Essentials is a good idea but it's executed horribly. I mean, I had to pinpoint the lag on my server for fucking days and I finally realized it was Essentials. I gave it a second chance later but it continued being a bitch.

NoCheat+ is horrible. I've spoken to Rakiru about it and I guess it is really damn restrictive. You get detected sometimes for not even hacking. NoCheat+ + Essentials = Shittiest piece of catshit ever.

In my experience with nocheat+ it's retarded. I tried to update all my hacks, but I can only do that if I'm not detected without even hacking... Majority of servers have it, and I get detected all the time through it. Doesn't matter much because I believe I found a way to do a new sprint bypass. So flying lucky cat may be on the ground atm, but he can still run like a cheetah. :D

Exactly, it triggers on vanilla clients, making it a pain in the arse for everyone, not just hackers and skids.

Edit: My kill aura is actually safer to use than fighting myself, in terms of getting picked up by NoCheat+ - it's ridiculous!

I happen to have a Cruse account (Most of you probably do because it uses your MC Forums login.)

I also voted no and left a comment. My experience with NCP is this: It works well if the server had NO LAG what so ever!  If, however, the server is NOT being hosted by one of NASA's computers then it randomly snaps you back every 10 minutes for no reason. Heck I once died on a server from NCP snapping me back under water so much that I couldn't even swim out.

I find it sad how there seems to be so many people saying that this is the most horribly thought up idea ever, yet the poll has more Yes votes than No. I'm guessing most of the bukkit server owners are either extremely stupid or they're brainwashed by Essentials.

To be honest, it wouldn't be a bad idea. A plugin that has all the commands along with a plugin that prevents people from hacking/griefing. Too bad, both plugins suck.
