The fucker had inserted itself into multiple registry keys and in program files, not sure where I got it. The name was Pup.playbryte, and Malwarebytes said it removed it. So, do any of you know what it does or where it could come from?

The name suggests it's from entertainment or media. If you can find the MalwareBytes report log and paste it here someone (maybe me?) might be able to see more information.

Well a Pup is basically a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) detection. It is not a virus or trojan. PUPs are any piece of software which a reasonably security-or privacy-minded computer user may want to be informed of.
