Personal experience. My own card has been tested on 3 different PSU's and even transplanted into a completely new build. The issue persists, and you'll see the same thing in the above links. Only flashing the card or downclocking sometimes eliminates or reduces the issue.

Did I ever say it was exclusive? I said the 970's are notorious for these issues, which suggest a higher number of problem cards than other models. The 970 is simply more prone to the issue it appears.

-Typo.
-Likely because I was at work, had ten different chrome tabs open all on PCPartPicker, and didn't double check.

Wat. The parts picked in the build are ALL personal preference. Most people just have a personal preference for stuff that isn't shitty in quality, which that Rosewill certainly is.

Hmm, let's see, the Define S has:

-Silence.
-3 front fan slots.
-2 top fan slots.
-2 bottom fan slots and clearance for the PSU to draw outside cold air.
-All 140mm supported.
-Silencing foam which makes a huge difference.
-Watercooling support.
-Dust filters.
-Silence.
-Buttons that won't break after a year.
-Moar silence with covers for empty fans.
-Cable management.
-Silence.

For $30 extra, that's a lot of useful stuff. Nigger what the fuck are you even doing?

History has told us a lot, but just more so about your ridiculous attitude of superiority. Which is undeserved by the way. Let this comment be a record to also document that you're an idiot in regards to how to build a computer.

-970 is sketchy at best on its support for full async compute compared to AMD. Good luck with DX12.
-3.5gb in the 970 with 8gb in the 390. Games already push 4gb of VRAM on 1080p (Dying Light for example). Developers are also getting lazy with compression, which just balloons memory costs. The 970 is already out of date.
-The 970 is generally on par with 390 in performance, but 390 pulls ahead in more titles. http://www.techspot....-380/page3.html
-Greater overclocking on the 390.
-Documented coil whine issues on the 970.

But you can't actually make an informative response though can you?

Let's just start with premises I presented.

-Async Compute: GCN uses 8 shader engines with 8 command queues resulting in 64 queues. Maxwell has 1 shader engine with 32 command queues result in 32 real queues. Maxwell's command queues perform faster than GCN's, BUT GCN takes the lead when stepping outside of the 1+31 queues towards the 128 command list and queue range. The difference isn't as big as one would expect when stepping outside Maxwell's bounds, but the higher compute power of Maxwell disguises the performance loss a bit. Furthermore, current driver implementations needed to even make asynchronous computations are seriously fucked up on Nvidia right now. You're retarded at this point, but we'll continue. http://www.anandtech...hronous-shading

-3.5gb's of regular VRAM, and games are already using in excess of that at 1080p.
Spoiler

-The 970 is generally on par with 390 in performance, but 390 pulls ahead in more titles. Already sourced, but here's more:
http://www.techspot....-380/page3.html
http://www.guru3d.co...b_review,13.htm

-Greater overclocking on the 390. Personal preference. Amd cards have always been way less picky with voltages for me.

-Documented coil whine issues on the 970.

I don't know about that, but it was fairly amusing.

OT: If you're planning on getting that motherboard in the partpicker list blind posted (GB z170x UD3), be very careful when installing your cpu cooler. Heatsinks will come flyin off it you so much as waft your hand past them.
This comes from experience, sadly. Though I was able to stick it back on there and it's still on there to this day so I guess it wasn't too bad. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

Good to know for me as well. My Z97 Gaming 5 was pretty great on mounting and such. Hopefully the UD3 problems don't extend to all their Z170 boards.

If you'd like to change to something else Revan, the Asus Z170-A isn't much more. Alternatively, there's the MSI Krait or Tomahawk which has built in WiFi(don't get their gaming line M3 if you want SLI), or higher end gigabyte boards (gaming 3 and 5) that hopefully have better cooler mounts. I've always been a little sketch on the Krait boards though considering the varying consumer reviews, so I'd probably go with the Asus board.

Chastising vague crash issues on a graphics card while using a mobo that used to brick itself because the BIOS update was a coinflip, and came with a version that didn't fully support multiple Intel chipsets.
Well played, well played.

Wrong motherboard buddy, that's the MSI Gaming 5 on BIOS update bricking, not the Gigabyte one. This board also has dual BIOS, so you're kinda dumb.
Notice how six out of the seven actual "BIOS brick" results are MSI when the fucking search is for Gigabyte? Even so the MSI problem was only a coinflip if you were stupid and used the live update. Updating through USB is always how you should do it considering Asus and Asrock had problems with their update utilities too.

On the last part, just nigga what? The Gigabyte gaming 5 has supported almost all chipsets since their release. The entirety of Haswell and most of its refresh were supported from the original F3 BIOS. Broadwell and some of the Haswell refresh were the only Intel chips that required a BIOS update, and you can't fault them for that considering the chips came out after the board.

Here's gigabyte calling you a retard: http://www.gigabyte....p.aspx?pid=4953
