In my opinion the "Steam Box" could servely damage Valve. Since Valve releases its titles on XBOX and PC most people won't rush out to buy it unless they also release a lot of games for it. Even then thought it is still problematic because if they also release the games on XBOX and PC like they usually do then the sale rate of the "Steam Box" would fall. On the other hand however. If they don't release the games on XBOX and PC then large group of people who won't or can't buy the "Steam Box" will not buy the games and the sales of games would drastically fall. So to me the "Steam Box" looks like a lose-lose situation for Valve.

If they made a "steambox" it better damn well be Steampunk themed...because that's the only time I'd condone the use of that horribly thought out name.

It's already been officially stated by Valve that they have no interest in making a console, and that any speculation made is completely false. They want to remain a PC developer and get into making hardware for computers.

Even if they do get into the hardware market, it will be a loooooooong way away

Gabe Newell is not only fat but also masturbates to cartoon ponies so I hope this project fails miserably.

I think if they were to make such a thing, they wouldn't make something the gamers could expect (like they do in games). So far Valve has no flaws as far as their products go (steam has some issues).
